Title:   VOTIVE PAINTED HEAD WITH HAIR

Description:   Mouldmade hollow head of youth. Punch hole for nostril inside nose and groove outside; nose twisted slightly to right. Eye has heavy lids. Ear set at angle to face, added to clay on top of hair. Hair made with folded ribbons of clay; grooves for hair along top of brow. Perhaps profile view only.
Decoration:   White slip on face with yellow paint, red paint on hair.
Material:   Fine pale orange to orange clay.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/4 to 2.5YR 6/8
Condition:   Fragment. Single fragment preserving right side of face from nose up and part of hair; broken all around; surface generally well-preserved, if portions flaked off.
