The jug probably had a small loop handle. Much damaged by fire, which has caused the surface to flake and splinter off.
Decoration:   Neck to rim exterior is mono out. Rim interior has band in brown with hashmarks below. Exterior lower neck has 2 bands. Exterior shoulder zone has series of 2 upside-down V with X below. Below shoulder motif zone are 4 bands followed by another decorative zone with zig-zag ladder pattern, followed by another set of at least 3 bands. From Blegen "The lower half of the body (as shown by the very scanty remnant still preserved) and the neck were coated with thin glaze, the zone between being reserved for decoration. This zone is divided into an upper and a lower part by two parallel lines which run around the pot. In the lower a pair of lines connected by numerous cross lines forms a simple zig-zag; in the upper belt is a band of double triangles, one inside the other, the inner of which is shaded by cross-hatching. And finally along the inside of the rim we have again two parallel lines, joined by oblique cross lines close together. (Blegen, Zygouries, 103)
