Description: | Matt-painted, class 1 (Blegen, Zygouries); Large coarse jug. Crudely made, apparently not on the wheel with thick, heavy walls. Flat base, oval body, and a low neck which may have ended in a projecting spout. A round handle runs from the widest part of the body to the neck. | |
Decoration: | Surface slipped and fairly smooth. Mattpainted. Simple linear pattern: twp parallel bands around the body, the base of the neck, and just below the rim. There is also a line of paint running down the handle and dividing into two below it, each end curving off to the side. | |
