Description:   One of many from the Potter's house, room 12. All are practically uniform in shape: the kylix has a large foot, flat underneath, but with a deep circular hollow at its center; and a high slender stem increasing in diameter as it rises; the body of the vessel first spreads out widely, then curves sharply upward to a neat rim. The rim is sometimes rounded off toward the exterior, sometimes has a short sort of delicate flange on the outside. There are always two half-round vertical loop handles.
Decoration:   red glaze. Flower or palm motif with cross-hatched figure with two side tentacles which suggest that there has been a fresh complication through the addition of elements borrowed from the octopus design.
