Description:   Closed shaped vessel, probably a Wiencke type 3 variant jar (Wiencke 2000, Lerna 4, pp. 363–364), or a pyxis. Similar to P537 in Wiencke 2000, Lerna 4, pp. 397–398, fig. II.28.
Decoration:   Dark-on-Light Pattern Painted (Blegen's Ware C, class 1): dark brown Wiencke motif 7a Randomly Crossing, Approximately Vertical lines (Wiencke 2000, Lerna 4, p. 614, fig. II.99) on very pale brown field. Solid monochrome dark brown band around interior and exterior of rim. Similar to P464 in Wiencke 2000, Lerna 4, pp. 389–390, fig. II.25.
Material:   Fine light brownish gray clay with rare small round black inclusions and rare very fine voids.
Munsell Color:   Decoration: 2.5YR 3/1 (very dark gray); slip exterior: 2.5YR 7/3 (pale brown); 10YR 6/2 (light brownish gray)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving 1/6 of rim and part of upper body. Greatly worn surface.
