Description:   Pyxis (Rutter form XVIII, type 1) with plain flaring rim (not preserved) with two pierced lug handles (Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, p. 427). Similar to Lerna 4 P1205, in Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, pp. 234–235, fig. 99.
Decoration:   Dark-on-Light Pattern Painted (Blegen's Ware C, class 1): dark brown Rutter pattern II Vertical Lines, motif 6 (Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, p. 498) on pale brown slipped field. Similar to Lerna IV P1205, in Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, pp. 234–235, fig. 99.
Material:   Very fine very pale brown clay with very rare, rounded, white inclusions, and no voids.
Munsell Color:   Field: 2.5YR 8/2 (pale brown); interior and core: 2.5YR 7/3 (pale brown); decoration: 7.5YR 4/2 (brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving part of lower body and of handle, slip has fallen away in most places leaving only shadow.
