Description:   Cylindrical Cup ("Vapheio" Cup) (FF 62, FF 225, no. 4) : slightly concave and slightly tappering, flat bottom, broad central rib. Similar to Furtwaengler and Loeschcke 1886, Mykenische Vasen, p. 17, pl. X.65.
Decoration:   Dark reddish brown "Sacral Ivy" (FM 12, no. 16) repeateding on upper sand lower registers with pale brown, slipped field. Dark reddish solid bands: broad, on central rib; broad, int. and ext. rim; thin, framing bottom of lower register; broad, bottom of body to base; broad, circular band outter edge, bottom of base; thin, circular band, bottom of base.
Material:   Very fine pink clay without inclusions or voids.
Munsell Color:   Core: 5YR 7/4 (pink); field: 2.5YR 7/4 (pale brown); decoration: 5YR 3/4 (dark reddish brown)
Condition:   Missing parts. Ten joining frgts., preserving ca. 30% of vessel and entire profile except handle. Some areas discolored by post-depositional fire. Slip flaked off in places. Slight encrustation on surface.
