Description: | Celt, roughly rectangular in shape, and nearly rectangular in section. Thickness tapers only slightly in all directions. Ground to a cutting edge, which is very worn. Blegen puts in his second type of celts, which are small, approximately "heart-shaped", and "much more neatly worked than those of the first type, beautifully polished, and ground from both sides to a sharp edge." He, however, notes its different shape, and resemblance to a celt from the acropolis of Chalandriane in Syra (Blegen 1928, Zygouries, 199, references Εφ. Αρχ. 1899, p. 123, pl. 10, no, 37). | |
