Abstract:   In the first part of this book, the author follows a chronological scheme, discussing consecutively Corinthian architecture Early Christian Period (395-610), the Age of Barbarism (610-802), the Byzantine Recovery (802-1057), the Full Byzantine (1059-1210), the Frankish (1210-1458), and the Turkish (1458-1858) periods. The second part offers a scholarly discussion of structural techniques and carved ornament. A final chapter discusses Plans and Types of Buildings.
