Abstract:   A large marble statuette found in Ancient Corinth resembles a number of draped female statues of the second half of the fifth century B. C. with respect to its pose, composition and drapery styles. These comparisons are discussed here. An analysis of the differences between fifth century originals and the Corinth piece leads to the suggestion of a date in the late first century B. C. for the latter. As the piece is of high quality and in an excellent state of preservation (minus the head), it is illustrative of the techniques and working methods used in Corinth at this period.
