The original church was part of a thirteenth century monastic complex at the west end of a large market place overlying the Forum. At that time it was a three aisled building with a narthex. From the Ottoman period to the time of its demolition only the central aisle remained in use. The church stood on the west side of an old village road which led from the area of the museum parking lot, past the west end of the South Stoa to Acrocorinth. Removal of the church revealed the Babbius Monument.","","","Corinth:Drawing:122 001::/Corinth/Architectural_Plans/122_Church_of_St_John_Theologos/122_001.jpg::1800::1363","Corinth" "bw 2002 017 14","","Image","","","Corinthia | Ancient Corinth | Central Area","","Corinth:Image:bw 2002 017 14","Roman inscription","","","","Corinth:Image:bw 2002 017 14::/Corinth/Photos/negatives/year_roll/2002_017/2002_sh_017_014.jpg::1423::1800","Corinth" "bw 1953","","Image","","","","1928","Corinth:Image:bw 1953","Inscription","","","","Corinth:Image:bw 1953::/Corinth/Photos/negatives/1000-1999/1953_gp.jpg::1366::1800","Corinth" "Dean, American Journal of Archaeolog26:4... 1922","","Publication","","","","October","Corinth:Publication:Dean, American Journal of Archaeolog26:4... 1922","Latin Inscriptions from Corinth.
