A body sherd probably of a closed shape but hard to determine. Slipped non lustrous matt paint. Not polychrome. Possibly a bird. Coarse occasional to frequendred brown medium small white black inculsions ... Blegen Class 1 Matt Painted ware. This one stands out in the Zygouries sherds because it is a weird fabric and color. |

Fine with few small red andblack angular inclusions and occasional small voids ... Blegen dates MH. It could be LH as style continues into LH I. The rim of a large open vessel, most likely a Krater. Predominantly undecorated with evidence of bars in brown vertical bars on rim. Pale Buff slip. Coarse Pink buff clay, frequentangularredto black inclusions ... Based on a parallel from Eutresis and its 'hawksbill'overhang (Goldman) this sherd is possibly LH I. More generally it should be dated MH LH I. Cf. Davis 1979 fig 5.5. |
