| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is coarse sand. | |
| Notes: | 31 extends over all of west extension. No real distinction from top soil. With this basket begin to uncover more of wall 27 at west end. It revealed a hard-packed fill of the same matrix (to be excavated as 32). It also revealed a softer deposot of fill to the east of the harder fill. The harder fill seems to cover this softer fill. Later notes: what seemed like a wall at the NW ware seems now (in 32) to be cobbls and small boulders in fill - not a wall. Later yet: proved to be wall 27 with further cleaning. | |
