Stratum:   Fill, possibly natural. Soil is medium reddish greyish brown sandy clay with 30% pebbles, 40% cobbles, somewhat compact.
Notes:   To close out this area of Panayia, we are going to poke around to the east and see if we can't find any worthwhile cuts. Along the baulk of the underside of B 35 the soil is grayer than the surrounding red pebbly stratum which looks every bit like colluvium elsewhere. Thus, this basket is a thin pass of the grey fringe of the baulk.
This comes down on the same red pebbly strata as is everywhere else: no cuts can be found and further exploration in this area would prove fruitless in terms of clarifying the archaeology. We leave this area and move to the north. See top plan pg. 67.3.
