Stratum:   Fill. Light yellowish brown, coarse grain loose; 15% inclusions, poorly sorted, medium pebbles to cobbles; silty sand.
Notes:   Basket 13 was defined as the area just under basket 10, except for a small marytr left along the border of parts of basket 11. This marytr was about 15 cm in thickness and preserves a small amount of soil which the strata of B 11 and 9 cut into. The main objective of B-13 was to define the extention of wall 285 into this area. At the bottom of the basket, wall 285 was defined running north-south in the southwest and northwest part of the basket. We don't know the exact date of this wall yet but it is probably Hellenistic as it is on the basic orientation of other Hellenistic wlls. Therefore the fill of this basket would be dated to the tie when the wall fell out of use. Inclusions consisted of pebble to cobble sized rocks, ceramics, roof tile fragmetns, bone and a bronze fragment. Photographs were taken of the area following the completion of the basket; see page 42 for these pictures.
