Description:   Structure materials: Limestone, tile, conglomerate. Material size: Limestone: ave. 35-40 cm. Material finish: roughly hewn. Material construction: random coursed. Material bonding: mud.
Notes:   -Upon excavation of context 63, it appears that wall 49 has an earlier phase, comprised primarily of tiles. This underlies the primarily stone later wall.
-There seems to be a break in the later wall along the W. section of the wall, later filled in with wall stones. This is approximately the same width as the threshold stone (feature 75) to the S. of this section of wall. It is possible that there was an opening here in the NW corner of room 5, later closed off and the threshold stone moved.
Period:   Middle Byzantine (802-1058 AD)
Chronology:   Use of wall spans 11th to 12th centuries
