Description: | The soil color is light grey. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silt. | |
Notes: | -78 is much looser and softer and much more greyish than 63; 78 abuts 73 on its N. end. -Excavation of possible hearth in E. end of trench next to wall 52. -This is mostly light grey in color, but earth is mixed with darker brown silty earth and darker patches of darker grey ash (likely colored from charcoal). -This patch of ash is roughly oval in shape, 5m E-W and slightly less than one meter N-S. -In N. end, context runs into S. end of context 73, a small strip along the N. end of wall 52. The bottom of the ash in context 78 goes lower than the bottom of the ash in context 73, perhaps down to earlier floor level. -100% context taken for water sieving, in five and a half liter buckets. -Some bones collected from context as well as pottery. -Bottom of 78 similar in consistency to bottom of 48 and 73 -harder, more reddish, and clayier.
