Description: | The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes: | The pedestalling of Wall 992 begins to become problematic, especially with the excavation of pit 1032; it seemed good to the council and the people to remove it. A stone near the top seems to come from a road pavement, having a shallow rut in it. A second such stone from two courses down. Near the base of the wall the neck of an amphora. And a third road stone. Panos spots a coin in the matrix near the bottom, 2013-53. The removal concludes, exposing the column base already partially exposed, as well as the section of dark deposit that is the connection between 990 on the N and 991 to S; this we will dig as context 1035.
