Stratum:   InInclusions 40-50%: pottery and tile, bone, stones (small cobbles, coarse pebbles, medium pebbles; angular, sub-rounded). Clay is blackish grey on top surface and light reddish yellow below.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the SThe soil color is mixed. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is clay.
Notes:   EXCAVATION NOTES:
The deposit is a black/grey on top and light orange (or maybe light orange brown) underneath. The surface was first revealed under B97 and was dark in color. The orange-ish color is more pronounced at the NW, where it may perhaps have been dug into too much during excation of B110 and/or B102. However, to the south of ca. 1003.75N, the bottom color of the deposit is more of a light yellowish brown.
Originally appeared that B122 might extend below B121--this is not the case.
Several deposits of soil have been revealed under B122--the clay has come to an end.
Discovered in the course of excavation that the stones of the wall of the oven (aka orange clay feature) rest on a layer of clay (originally thought to be a foundation but not the case) overlying soil. No construction cut was found--thus the walls predate all of the clay floor deposits.
The bottom elevations of B122 are remarkably level, except for #6 and #7 at the southern extent. Evidence that there was levelling before the laying of B122, the first clay floor in the area? Maybe the lower elevations indicate subsidence or disturbance at a later date--they were taken close to an area quite close to looser soil that appears disturbed (B127, B128) and is below several contexts disturbed in the Modern period (B21/B25, B29).
