Description:   Top slope of the context is level. Bottom slope of the context is level down to the The soil color is light brownish white. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   B 212 is the removal of a lens of clay that sits just north of the apse stones. It sits on top of clay that rests on the stones thus we must remove these layers to get to the robbing trench and foundation of this apse. Below this clay level there is another clay layer which is similar but definitely more red and it also looks to be softer.
This basket has actually exposed several different layers beneath it (B 213 and 214).
