Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is well sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Context 232 consisted of soil with pebble inclusions, though a few cobbles were present. The small quantity of tile was also mixed in the soil. Underneath the pebbles was a layer of soil that had mostly cobble inclusions and a greater number than before. Due to the change in inclusions, we decide to change contexts. After sweeping, we notice that this new layer seemed similar to the soil in the southwestern area of the excavation zone that was revealed during the initial cleaning pass. Additionally, the previously observed patch of lighter soil was lightly scraped, and it became clear that this was also the same as the newly exposed cobble layer. It only appeared lighter because its moisture content was lower. As a result of these two observations, we decided the new context (233) should extend across the entire southern portion of our excavation area.
Note on Drawing: While drawing the top plan of context 232, we realize we did not have an accurate depiction of the extent of the concrete slabs on this top plan. During excavation of context 229, more of the concrete was revealed. We revised the drawing to reflect actual conditions.
