| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the W. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the WThe soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | We continued excavating the soil cut by the plow furrows (B22) east after B23 was completed. I told Billy not to dig an area of blacker soil as this will be dug as a new context later. In the west side of this area there are a few tiles visible from the surface which in all likelihood correspond to the area with many tile inclusions in the east half of B23. On the morning of the 24th the workmen found a large fragment of ceramic in the shape of an infant's face (from a doll?). On the south edge we uncovered two patches of soil which look different from what surrounds them: one containing a swatch of large stones, and the other which seems to extend outside the excavation area, and contains smaller stones. | |
