Notes:   Context 489 is a scraping operation on the deposits on the NW corner of the area designated as Nezi field, abutting the scarp at 255.50 E and the north of the cut 272. It was decided to scrape the area to determine if there are differentiated deposits in what appears to be a fairly homogeneous surface but is suspected to contain disturbances. The context number was assigned in order to reserve any material collected in the operation. In the process of scraping, it was possible to identify more of a very soft deposit with a significant amount of land snail shells; this deposit is partially observed by what appeared to be a thin level of dumped fill. Also disitnguished is a roughly linear cut filled with darker soil that may indicate a robbing trench. There also seem to be a surface of sorts with clay inclusions that was disturbed.
