Corinth Basket: Nezi Field, context 5028

Type:   Basket
Name:   Nezi Field, context 5028
Area:   Nezi Field
Title:   Pit fill, uppermost
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1100
Context:   5028
Page:   0
Date:   2007/05/08
Stratum:   25% inclusions: sherds, angular and subangular stones.
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the N. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We are excavating Bothros 7 because it cuts the "lump" we started excavating in B 5027. We can now see that this bothros needs to be at least cleaned if not excavated more: the cut of the bothros was not evident from B 5003 and we are clarifying that now.
We are switching baskets (closing this one, B 5028 and opening B 5029) because the soil in the west half of the bothros is greyish, whereas the soil in this one is reddish. Also, the west half has far more inclusions.
