Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SE. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the SEThe soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This soil is N of Bothros 7 against the N wall of Room F. It is a deposit heavy in tile fragments. It goes down quite far - we willl continue tomorrow to get its lower extent.
We found organic material (olive pits) so we are sieving the soil at least 20% in the water sieve.
The pit is cut by the E extension of the N wall of Room F. We suspect the pit may continue under the wall, perhaps into the room N of Room F. The part of the wall over the pit seems to be of later construction than the rest (W) of the wall - it sits at a higher level, does not join and juts out to the S several cm, as well as being of markedly lesser construction -- perhaps the result of an attempt to fill in a door.
See B 5053 notes.
