| Notes: | Context 504 is a cleaning operation in the area between walls 313 to the east and 332 to the west. Previous excavation in the area (2008) uncovered a red clay floor which is cut by a pit. The southern side of the pit is well defined whereas the north side of the pit has not been trace yet. Our purpose now is to remove the surface pottery in order to avoid contamination and trace the northern side of the pit. The removal of this context showed that the pit is actually smaller than it seemed initially. Around the outline of the pit we observed that parts of the floor have slumped in the pit porbably because of the extistence of water underneath. This gave the impression of a much larger pit. We closed this context after identifying the outline of the pit. | |
