Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the SThe soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We noticed that the soil in B 5059 continues down further in the half running along the E face of the W wall of Room F. At the bottom elevation of the other half (along the N face of the N wall of Room F, W) we switched baskets for the deeper stratum along the W wall. This section cuts the N wall section.
As it is going quite deep, it's starting to look like this is a foundation trench for the W wall of Room F. But if this context ends before the bottom of the wall apparently, it can't be the foundation trench.
If these two halves should have been considered separately, the pottery coming out of this W wall facing section will have contaminated the presumably earlier pottery from the section on the N face of the N wall of Room F, W.
That the sides are fairly vertical, and slope down to the W, really looks like a construction trench; that could be what this is.
The W wall construction trench cuts everything else, which makes it later than the N wall of Room F which the masons were avoiding, thus the curve away from the N face of N wall at the corner.
The bothros in the NW corner of the Room N of Room F, W is apparently cutting B 5060. We left a martyr here so we can dig this next.
