Stratum:   Ash, very powdery and black, crumbles easily. No inclusions except a few sherds and iron pieces.
Description:   The soil color is dark greyish black. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is well sorted. It is silt.
Notes:   This is a thin layer of ash lining a small pit in the SE corner of the west half of the Room N of Room F, W.
We are water sieving all the soil. The soil forms only a thin layer before revealing brownish red soil beneath.
There is also ash on the surface of the W half of this room, which we are treating as a separate context (B 5081).
