Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is varies. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is flat. Truncation: none.
Notes:   Large circular cut in topmost level of clay floor of unknown final depth and origin. At west end it slopes 45 degrees for 50 cm, then breaks sharply down to vertical. At north there is an undercut, possibly a collapse of the original cut, where it shows what we now know to be an E-W wall. At the east it has a vertical baulk, possibly left by prior excavations, but definitely of harder material than the fill.
The cut could not be dug all the way yet due to its depth.
At bottom this cut possibly cut another pit, since we could see ceramic sherds making an empty pocket in the earth. We were not able to explore this second cut at all, due to the steepness of the walls and were told to stop.
