| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish yellow. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt. | |
| Notes: | We excavated to figure out whether this context was continuous with 5172, the clay floor to the south of this context. Also we wanted to know the relation to the course of stones, possibly a doorstop (5193). Was this an interior space. Excavation revealed this as a clay floor at the north of the area and seemingly continuous with the south floor level (5172), though not in exact corollation with the deeper layers in the south. In subsequent excavation it turned out there was an E-W wall and a robbing trench at the point where this section becomes higher than the S. part. This context extends N. and east to scarps which drop off sharply, possibly made by previous excavation. The relationship did not become exactly clear over the course of the digging of this or lower contexts. | |
