| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand. | |
| Notes: | We are taking context 5330. This is the continuation of the foundation trench for Wall 5216 after a soil change noiced in context 5326. A coin is found from the sieve. This w as found far away from the confusion of the foundation trenches. While taking this context, it was decided to leave a safety baulk 0.20m west of Wall 5218 in the foundation trench of Wall 5216. After a thin pass, the cut seems to end and the soil is lighter, harder, and has less inclusions. Also, at c. 264.27 a couple of sones begin to appear which may be part of a N-S wall. We stop at this level leaving the foundation trench partially dug with a safety baulk at 265.32E. Tiles=14, 1.4 kg. | |
