It is sandy silt. | | Notes: | | The cleaning context was necessary in order to get a clear picture of the artifical surface that was created by the 1960's excavations. We have removed uncontaminated contexts east and west of 5362 (5325 in the west and 5357/5355 in the east). Separating these east and west contexts and excavated this season is a surface that has been exposed to weather and trampling since the 1960's. To understand the holistic relationships within our excavation area, we needed to remove this thin skin of compact, trampled soil.
