Stratum:   Total inclusions were 40%: 25% fine to coarse pebbles, rounded to angular and spherical and tabular in shape. There were a few cobbles as well. And, 10% pottery and 5% tile.
Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   East side of context was a platform 6cm higher than the west side (also a platform). The two sides were distinguishable by a step in the surface at E273.7. The edges of this context were clearly distinguished from the cut because the dirt Panos excavated easily fell away from the cut, especially in the east half. This did not happen as easily in the west half. The dirt we came down upon in the east half was the similar composition to that of the cut, containing chunks of clay, which distinguishes this lower soil from that of deposit 5365. Panos stopped in the west half after the first pass because he hit a new layer, but continued another pass in the east half. Panos found a very clear N/S cut along the east side which we speculate is the cut for a robbing trench for the wall being revealed. The cut of this fill, however, was less clear because soft soil is cutting soft soil. Panos is a little uncertain about where to stop, so we are stopping here; there is a layer (5371) over this possible robbing trench which we will remove next which will hopefully better reveal the boundaries both of the robbing trench cut and of the cut for this context (5365). This cut has a new number 5374. Bottom of context reveals probably one more stone of dividing wall.
