Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Pit fill 563 is the fill of a circular pit cut through a pinkish clay floor that extends westward from wall 540 and stops a pier. It is not associated with any other extant wall. The floor and the pit were revealed by the removal of the agricultural deposit 458.The fill of pit is fairly homogeneous with a fair amount of building debris such as boulders, roof tile fragments, and revetment fragments. Within the edge of the cut to the east, the circular arc of a column can be discerned. It may be associated with some contiguous stones also visible in the cut wall, perhaps indicating the presence of a structure at a lower elevation. The presence of flat lying tile fragments that extended into the wall of the cut marked the bottom of the pit fill.
