| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is mixed. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is silty sand. | |
| Notes: | We are excavating this 20th cent excavation backfill in order to remove possible contaminates from this area and especially around the pit fill that was uncovered by 5743. The removal of 5747 revealed 3 features: 1) the cut of 5758 and its fill 5752, 2) a short wall which the original digging of pit 5758 exposed in antiquity and served as the base of the pit cut, and 3) the west-face of a second wall at the eastern boundary of this context (269.50 E). We are equaling in the Harris matrix all the backfill from 20th cent excavations to the north of 1044.50 N. | |
