Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit 5815 is a soft rubbly lens that appears to be part of the same surface with 5803. As we dig farther to the east the soil becomes darker and more rubbly. This soft fill 5815 appears to be the same as the softer fill in the sw of 5803 and we are hoping to reveal more of the pebble surface with its removal. 5815 has very diffuse boundaries with 5803. 5815 was over at its western edge by the very hard 5814. It seems likely that the eastern portion of the softer deposit 5815 was excavated with the removal of the surface 5803. As mentioned above, the change was diffuse, however the removal of these two lenses revealed the same continuous pebble surface and a patch of plaster/cement, this portion of the pebble floor is at the bottom of the slope down from a hump in the surface, so 5815 can plausibly be interpreted as a leveling patch in the pebble floor.
