Description:   Structure materials: limestone. Material size: 0.37w x 0.43l x 0.13deep. Material finish: roughly hewn.
Notes:   Structure 5865 is a trapezoidal threshold block with 2 rectangular cuts abutting in the eastern side of the block (0.19 x 0.11 x 0.025 deep, 0.15 x 0.07 x 0.045 deep). These cuts are presumed to be for the door jamb. There is no foundation below and blocks are missing on both sides. There may have been another door jamb block robbed out or there may have only been one
Later notes - 02/04/09 (W. Bruce)
Threshold block removed since it overlay context 5939. Soil underneath given context number 5941 as it continued out the doorway into the courtyard, but is the same as 5939. Once threshold was removed it became clear that context 5939 did continue underneath, but after excavation does not appear to continue into courtyard.
