Description: | The soil color is light yellowish grey. It is clayey silt. Structure materials: Limestone, tiles. Material size: Largest: 0.28 x 0.23 x 0.17. Material finish: Mixed (includes roughly hewn and reworked stone). Material construction: Random. Material bonding: None. Features: None.
Notes: | During removal of foundation wall 5913, change in soil and material noted. This additonal phase identified as wall 5914. Consists of most northern portion of N-S wall which also included superstructure wall 5473. Abuts wall 5562 to north. Tile flooring in room in which wall located appears to continue beneath wall 5914. Wall 5914 has smaller N-S dimensions than wall 5913 which overlay wall 5914 and which had elements directly contacting the tile flooring at the southern end. The top of wall 5914 is a single course tile surface with compacted clayey soil. This appears to be a leveling course with limestone blocks beneath. Soil more compacted than for wall 5913 and lighter in color. Also feels more clayey. Inclusions were approximately 10% and well sorted. It was 2008 contexts 5572/5587 which revealed the tile floor initially. Final removal of wall 5914 confirmed that tile floor ran beneath.
