Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Fill is mixed cobbles, tile fragments ~ 10 cm. East portion of deposit contained larger cobbles and less tile, cobbles up to 30 cm. Deposit consisted of fill remaining from 2009 season (Context 578), but excavation stopped at red clayey layer, before reacing North turn at eastern end of Context 578.
Later interpretation (23 April 2012): After comparing pottery dates and elevations, we believe this portion of the trench was overcleaned. This deposit represents the undisturbed soil beneath C272.
