Notes: | N.B. Context number 6482 was skipped in 2009. For consistency, it is being used during the 2010 season. Context 6482 is a small leveling fill in the northwest corner of the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. It was revealed during the removal of context 6679. Context 6482 may represent a small leveling fill laid down in anticipation of floor 6668=6670=6672. While leveling fill 6679 was the main fill laid down for this floor, it is likely that several smaller ones were dumped in prior to this. The soil is dark yellowish brown clayey silt, firm in compaction, with 5% moderately sorted inclusions (stone, tile, pottery, roots). The removal of context 6482 revealed more of a surface which first appeared with the removal of context 6679. | |
