Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The context shape in plan is irregular. The top break of the cut is gradual. The sides of the cut are mixed. The break at the base of the cut is gradual. The base of the cut is concave. Truncation: Truncated by wall 5678 to the South and pit 5629 to the North..
Notes:   Cut 6691 is a cutting for the ash pit 6690. The cut is only well-defined on the West scarp, where the earth is somewhat fire-reddened. Taken together, cut 6691 and deposit 6690 indicate a small pit, dug into the fill of 6689. Given the general irregularity of the cut, this pit was most likely a haphazard cutting and dumping operation, probably associated with temporary burning activity. Without the clear cut on the West, context 6690 would have been considered a lens within 6689.
