Stratum:   5% inclusions: tile, pottery, bone, stones (medium pebbles-cobbles; angular-subrounded; spherical-tabular)
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the S. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Context 6714 is a fill located in the northern part of the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. It was revealed by the removal of context 6710 and was distinguished from 6713 for having far fewer inclusions. Context 6714 is truncated by pit 6583 (cut 6655). Context 6714 also appears to travel beneath wall 5725 indicating the same layer will be found in the room northwest of the courtyard.
The soil is dark greyish brown clayey silt with 5% inclusions (Stone, tile, pottery, bone).
The removal of context 6714 revealed more of a robbing trench which first came to light in pit 5943 and was further uncovered by the removal of context 6656. Excavation of context 6714 continued into the morning of 14/04/10. It also appears that context 6417 would have been truncated by the built pithos 6232.
Our hope with the excavation of context 6714 was that it would reveal the northern cut of the robbing trench. It did so in the eastern part of the context, but the cut in the western part is still unclear.
