Description:   The soil is moderately sorted.
Notes:   Context 6740 is a fill located in the northern half of the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. It is truncated by robbing trench 6720 (cut 6655). Context 6740 continues beneath wall 5725 indicating it will also be found in the room nw of the courtyard. The soil is mixed with most a dark yellowish brown clayey silt while a few spots are dark greyish black silty sand with bits of ash. The soil contains 20% inclusions (tile, stone, pottery, bone).
The removal of context 6740 revealed more of a stone and tile fill along the northern part of the room.
