Notes: | Wall 6775 is a narrow rubble partition or dividing wall, running E-W between NS walls 5431 (on the East) and 6765 (on the West). It is small and narrow, constructed of small fieldstones, unworked and/or roughly hewn, laid in random courses. On the North, the excavation of 6763 revealed a compact, white "surface" (probably not an actual floor surface, but a pebbly stratum) that runs up to wall 6775. To the South of the wall, contexts 6770 and 6759 (6770 = 6759) represent a very loose fill with inclusions of cookware and lots of bone. EW wall 6775 possibly functions as a partition wall, creating a rectangular bin with NS walls 5431 and 6765, and EW wall 6764, that was used for disposal of pottery and bone. Later notes (15/6/10) JB: We are removing this wall after 6765. | |
