Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Fill below 6550 excavated to establish the relationship to wall 6526 and the foundation trench of wall 5562. Excavation was halted when a strip of light brownish/white soil (Deposit 6830 in Cut 6831) along the north side of 6828, running E-W was discovered. 6830 must be later than 6828, and furthermore we came upon more parts of wall 6526 in the southern part of the current context.
Later notes (DPG, 10-5-10): 6828 is dumped fill in NW section of room N of courtyard in Byzantine house. Excavation revealed the continuation of wall 6526 to the west at a lower level, indicating that the upper courses had been robbed out. Excavation of 6828 was closed to begin excavation of 6830.
