Description:   The context shape in plan is oval. The top break of the cut is gradual. The sides of the cut are concave. The break at the base of the cut is gradual. The base of the cut is varies. Truncation: possible truncation by 6890.
Notes:   6891 is a cut for a pit, perhaps a bothros or a depression for a pithos. The top of the southern side slopes down gently, with a sharper but not vertical slope on the north (about 80 degrees). The west and east sides slope imperceptible down to a small depression about .36 m in diameter. It is currently unclear what the relationship of 6891 is to 6840. We have speculated that perhaps the two are contemporaneous, with 6891 cut deeper to store something like a pithos within the larger storage area 6840. It could also be an earlier cut for a similar purpose (i.e. storage for a pithos) which was then completely covered before 6840 was cut and, therefore, 6891 would have no relationship with 6840.
