Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   6905 was opened after excavation and cleaning of 6898 revealed a fill at the SW junction of walls 10111 and 5742, dinstinctly darker soil with visible charcoal inclusions. The context was closed when charcoal inclusions ceased to be apparent. We will pursue further excavation of the fill S of wall 10111 and built pithos 6881 in order to determine the relationships between these fills and the room. At the moment we do not have enough information to form a definitive interpretation, but we do not believe that this context is fill for a foundation trench of wall 10111 and therefore may be a leveling fill in the room NW of the courtyard in the Byzantine house, perhaps when the room was bounded on the N by 10111 and before Frankish pithos 6881.
