Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   7007 is a soft ashy fill W of wall 6789. We are trying to understand its relationship to the areas S, E, and W. It is surrounded on 3 sides (N, S, W), by a harder, more compact reddish fill with large tile inclusions that extends from just N of wall 6789 to the area NE or pit 6840. Understanding this middle area of the trench will help us understand the relationship between the E and W ends of the trench. Excavation has revealed a darker reddish brown hard-packed soil with small-medium pebble inclusions. In examining the larger area around in, we have decided to move to robbing trench 6927, as it now seems to be the latest layer in the area and are excavating the fill as context 7009.
