Title:   fill of robbing trench
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1104
Context:   7203
Page:   0
Date:   2010/06/10
Stratum:   20% tile, large and medium pebbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the N. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We are excavatin filll 7203. This is a difficult area of stratigraphy due to trenches 5802 and 5678. We are excavating this so that we can move further to the east. We have found that the 2008 team left this portion of robbing trench 5802 undug as they wished to support wall 5678. We are now digging 7203 as the fill of 7204, but we now know that 5777=7203 and 5802 = 7204. The context has expanded a bit to include the rest of the east half of the robbing trench. We are switching to sieving 75%. Due to stratigraphical difficulties along the north baulk (see notes for 7204), we are confining our excavation of this context to south of 1045.5N. We are also leaving a ca. 20 cm martyr on the south end of the context. At the south end of the context, PK has revealed a more brown fill of an earlier cut.
