Stratum:   poorly sorted inclusions (total 25%): less than 2% cobbles, 10% tile frags. 10% coarse pebbles and medium pebbles, 2% roots and sherds. Soil much disturbed by roots of orange tree
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the EThe soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This deposit was first exposed by the removal of B29. This is a very poorly sorted and disturbed deposit that very clearly cuts the south edge of the clay and worked stone feature (partially and erroneously dug with B26).
As Kleomenis dug this deposit, he came down on the same sort of dark silty deposit found under B65, and Alicia suspects that the line between this deposit and B65 was marked arbitrarily. The only real difference seems to be that this deposit has several small tree roots embedded within it. Kleomenis said that he was finished sooner than I expected. Immediately to the east of where he stopped, the soil becomes harder. We stopped here, and opened the eastern harder area as a new basket (B80). There are two cobbles abutting the clay/stone feature on its south end which Kleomenis left in place when digging this basket. When asked, he said that this is because they seem to project out of the clay.
Toward the south, the distinction between B78 and B80 becomes very difficult to detect with the eye, and at this point I have marked the border between the two baskets with a dashed line on the sketch.
I suspect B78 and B80 are the same context, but the disturbance from the roots makes B78 feel softer.
